Fundamental TechnologiesUlysses HISCALE Pages |
These files contain the MFSA rates and fluxes calculated as described in the documents mfsa-background.pdf and mfsa_p-e.pdf.
The file nomenclature is as follows:
(ulysses/epam)_mfsa_(flux/rate)_yyyy_(m/fp/mp/f)_(p/a/e)_(sw/sc)_(.csv/17m.csv)
So, for example, the file ulysses_mfsa_flux_1995_mp_p_sw.csv, contains the sectored proton fluxes from 1995 calculated in the solar wind rest frame from the LEMS120 (M') detector of the HISCALE instrument. Whereas the file epam_mfsa_rates_2000_f_e_sc_17m.csv, contains the spin- averaged electron rates from 2000 calculated in the spacecraft reference frame from the LEFS150 (F) detector of the EPAM instrument.
Each file contains two header records before the data records. The first header line contains information about the data included in the file, such as what instrument the data are from, what species is being represented by the data and the units for the data. The second header line contains the column headings. The value under the column labelled 'pitch' is the cosine of the pitch angle.
